SUU To Hold Two Commencement Ceremonies for 2021 Graduates

2021 Commencement at SUUThis year, Southern Utah University will honor the class of 2021 with two University Commencement ceremonies. Students and families are invited to attend their corresponding Bell Tower processional, University Commencement, and College Convocation on April 30 and May 1.

Commencement ceremonies for the Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business, Walter Maxwell Gibson College of Sciences, College of Engineering & Computational Sciences, and College of Humanities & Social Sciences will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021.

Commencement ceremonies for the Beverley Taylor Sorenson, College of Education & Human Development, College of Health Sciences, and College of Performing & Visual Arts will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021.

Both days will feature the Commencement Procession from the Upper Quad through the Bell Tower and into the America First Event Center. Students and faculty are asked to line up on the Upper Quad at 8:00 a.m.

The University Commencement will begin at 9 a.m. both days and feature the formal conferring of degrees, the student speaker and commencement speaker.
Following each main University Commencement will be individual college convocations, that schedule is below. Each graduate is individually recognized, called to walk and accept their diploma in their respective academic college convocation.

Graduates who wish to participate in the commencement exercise can purchase their cap and gown by visiting suu.edu/graduation. All graduates will pick up their cap and gown at the Grad Fair on Thursday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Hunter Conference Center.

SUU will follow guidelines issued by the state of Utah at the time of commencement regarding masks and social distancing. Family and friends of graduates have the option of watching graduation from the America First Event Center, on-campus overflow seating, or live on SUU’s social media channels.
