Chad Hall (football), Tracy Healy (women’s soccer), Marci McGlinn (women’s gymnastics), Ben Phillips (water polo) and 2009 Ice Hockey team to be honored in fall of 2023

Air Force athletics announced its 10th class for induction into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame. The class of football record-holder Chad Hall, women's soccer All-American Tracy Healy, two-time NCAA champion gymnast Marci McGlinn, water polo record-holder Ben Phillips and the 2009 hockey team, the first in program history to advance to the NCAA Elite Eight will be honored Friday, Sept. 15, at the Doubletree World Arena in Colorado Springs.

Hall, a 2008 Academy graduate, was named Mountain West offensive player of the year in 2007 while leading the league in rushing with 1,478 yards. He set the school single-game rushing record with 275 yards vs. Army, a mark he'd set earlier in the season with 256 yards at Colorado State. Hall also set the single game, single season and career record for all-purpose yards with 333 vs. Army, 2,683 in 2007 and 4,098 for his career from 2005-07. He was the only player in the nation to lead his team in rushing, receiving and all-purpose yards in 2007 while leading the Falcons to a 9-4 overall record, a five-game improvement from 2006. Hall went on to play in Super Bowl XLVII for the San Francisco 49ers and is currently an NFL assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Healy, a 1996 Academy graduate, became the first Air Force women's soccer player to earn All-America honors in 1995. A first-team all-region selection that year, Healy helped the Falcons to a program-best 14 wins in 1995. She earned first-team all-conference honors three years, was the 1995 Colorado Sports Woman of the Year and earned Air Force Academy Female Athlete of the Year honors. She led the Falcons in goals and points all four years and still holds 12 program records. Healy is the program's first player to earn Hall of Fame honors.

McGlinn graduated from the Academy in 1985. She was a two-time NCAA national champion, taking home the honor in the vault in 1984 and 1985. She earned All-America honors on the vault in 1984 and 1985 and was recognized as the program's most valuable player in 1984. McGlinn is the first female gymnast to earn Hall of Fame honors at the Academy.

Phillips, a 1975 Academy graduate, is the Air Force career leader in goals with 336, which is 102 more than second place. He is the program leader in career goals and assists, while setting the single season record for goals with 120. Phillips played in an era when All-Americans were not recognized, but he has more career records than all 19 water polo All-Americans in Academy history. Phillips served as team captain in 1974 and is the first player to earn Hall of Fame honors for the water polo program.

The 2009 hockey team was the first to win an NCAA tournament game, beating No. 3 Michigan to advance to the NCAA Elite Eight. The Falcons finished the season with a program-best 28-11-2 record. Air Force won both the Atlantic Hockey Association regular season and tournament titles in 2009. The Falcons were ranked as high at 10th in the nation during the season. The team featured two All-Americans (Jacques Lamoureux, Greg Flynn) a hobey Baker finalist (Lamoureux), conference player of the year (Lamoureux) and tournament most valuable player (Matt Fairchild).
