Institutional Identity Group

The Institutional Identity Group (IIG) advises the Office of Communication and Marketing on requests, projects and initiatives that impact SUNY Oneonta’s brand identity.

The Office of Communication and Marketing oversees SUNY Oneonta’s website, institutional social media channels, media relations program and advertising presence, and collaborates with campus partners on print and digital communications that promote the university to external audiences.

Working in partnership with Communication and Marketing, the IIG will:

  • strive to maintain a consistent visual identity in print and digital collateral promoting the university;
  • promote messaging that aligns with the university’s mission, vision and values;
  • share information with campus colleagues on standards and best practices for presenting and characterizing the university’s brand and identity in all forms of communication; and
  • review the University Style Guide annually and make recommendations for updates.

IIG members offer perspectives from the areas they represent to help inform the work of the Office of Communication and Marketing.

Members include:

  • associate director of athletics or designee
  • director of development or designee
  • director of alumni engagement or designee
  • director of internal communications or designee
  • senior enrollment officer/executive director of admissions or designee
  • associate director of marketing and digital media or designee
  • special assistant to the provost: student engagement and retention or designee
  • director of Oneonta Auxiliary Services or designee
