... or a busy intersection, if our lives lean that way—as the Sun, Mercury and Venus, now in brash Aries, push us to hurry up, and Mercury approaches a square to Pluto. This intersection could be asking us to choose a road with less excess baggage from the past and more purpose for the future, call us let go of burdens which are not ours, or let go of one possibility so we can pursue another. But right before the decision point we are asked to go back, check to make sure our bags are packed, take care of unfinished business, and fine tune our plans before heading off.
This pattern unfolds as mental Mercury approaches a challenging square to deep Pluto and brings our thoughts to serious personal and political choices. Then, right before this square becomes exact, Mercury retrogrades April 1–25 distracting and diverting us, sending us back for review.
Tend to problems that should have been solved a while ago, attend some personal side agenda before leaping forward after mid-May, when direct Mercury clears its shadow and perfects it square to Pluto. Leap sideways instead. Leap like a tiger while sitting, a Korean phrase for a meditation retreat which fits this time.
Mercury rules transportation, communication, our thinking process, and all things high-tech. Rushing will now cause problems, so slow down and let life become an exercise in attention. As Mercury approaches that square to Pluto, and perfects it mid-May, pay extra attention when driving and around heavy machinery. Inherent problems come to the surface to be dealt with. If a car has an old leak, it may show up; tend to it now and save troubles later. If problems happen, build back better. Also, notice the quality of your thinking, notice where thoughts go and do not be caught up in catastrophizing. If that Aries restlessness builds, work it out with a burst of energy and come back to a calm thoughtful place, that exercise in attention.

While people are feeling Aries-like outspoken, our feelings can be easily hurt. We may need some occasional time alone as Venus in sensitive Pisces approaches imaginative Neptune. We can get lost in a dream of the lottery or an imaginary future. Take note of those possibilities but focus on practical next steps. It’s helpful to keep art supplies handy—our creative world is a place where we can leap forward.
Over the weekend the Moon in Sagittarius can leave us spinning in circles. Go explore the springtime. Physical activity helps us stay less restless and more centered. Keep a sense of humor while battening down the hatches for the coming Mercury retrograde season. Early in the week a competent Capricorn Moon can make us want to pound on those nails until it’s built, just when we are supposed to reassess the plans. Look to the deeper structures involved, become more aware of fundamental changes needed. Old stories from the past, old lies or fabrications, come to the surface to back up a point of view; watch the spin.
Day By Day:
Friday, March 29: It could be a snarly morning, but we can focus on what inspires us as that focused Scorpio Moon trines Neptune. Humor and impatience may arise this afternoon. Look for a last-minute completion of projects as the Sagittarius Moon sextiles Pluto. Find a safe way to decompress and relax this evening.
Moon trine Neptune 9:39 AM, Moon enters Sagittarius 1:51 PM, Moon sextile Pluto 5:23 PM.
Saturday, March 30: We could easily feel pulled in 10 directions today. Competing needs may keep us from completing things easily. Instead of worrying about speed, focus on steady authenticity; prioritize interpersonal understanding and give people a chance to get some concerns off their chest. Movement is good for the soul, just watch where your feet go.
Moon square Mars 12:43 AM, Moon trine Sun 9:44 AM, Moon square Saturn 3:29 PM.
Sunday, March 31: The energy has an on-again off-again quality today; keep track of what needs to be done and let differing needs take turns rather than trying to stick to one thing until it’s done. A clash of needs or desires can bring an awkwardness to relationships, providing the opportunity to mediate and find a fair balance as the Sagittarius Moon squares Venus midday. Make flexible plans tonight as the Moon enters determined Capricorn.

Monday, April 1: Expect the unexpected as Mercury turns retrograde this Foolish Day. Go about your day but confirm, track, and keep all lines of communication open for last-minute changes and unexpected twists. Don’t push the river—make the most of the situation. That competent Capricorn Moon can help us stay on track with priorities—what we think needs to be done and what actually needs doing may not be the same thing. Stay flexible. Watch manipulative comments.
Moon sextile Mars 11:48 AM, Mercury turns retrograde 4:14 PM, Moon squares the Sun 9:14 PM, Moon sextile Saturn 10:46 PM.
Tuesday, April 2: Clean up unfinished business. Organization helps, but most of this will just need to be walked through until it’s done. Clarify the target and keep it in mind—we may have to wing it when life throws curveballs. If you feel an overall sense of frustration from conflicting demands and energies, just breathe through it and deal with one thing at a time. Hurrying will not further.
Moon trine Jupiter 5:43 AM, Moon trine Uranus 11:19 AM
Wednesday, April 3: People expound grand ideas as the Aquarius Moon conjuncts Pluto while creative, emotional Venus conjuncts imaginative Neptune. We could hear what we want or what we’re afraid of rather than the ephemeral truth. Let’s put the best of our philosophy to work, observe carefully, reach out to those who may not feel heard, and listen.
Moon enters Aquarius 3:07 AM, Moon conjunct Pluto 6:23 AM, Venus conjunct Neptune 7:10 AM.
Thursday, April 4: Tap into a good flow this morning; rather than get nervous, make last-minute improving adjustments as the Moon squares Jupiter and Uranus. We can move out of a place of passivity and feel more alive and in charge of our life as Venus enters Aries this evening—we may suddenly become unwilling to put up with a situation which felt oppressive before.
Moon sextile Sun 4:44 AM, Moon square Jupiter 9:43 AM, Moon square Uranus 2:24 PM, Venus enters Aries 10:01 PM, Moon sex tile Mercury 11:39 PM.
Tend to relationships of all types this week. Garden the community network, support work collaborations, nourish friendships and check in on allies as we head into Monday’s full Moon in interpersonally astute Libra, opposed the Sun in direct Aries. Do not take romantic partnerships for granted; give them extra love, consideration, acceptance, and a breath of fresh air. Tend the relationship between social expectation and that Aries-inspires raw & willful spark of soul within.
They can bring rebellion to the oppressed, fuel to a fire, and impulsiveness to us all. But that Aries bravery, shared with all wildlife sprouting in the spring, can overshoot the mark and tweak our sensitive feelings.
Mars, the planet known as the ruler of Aries, joins Venus in Pisces and sensitizes us. We can dish it out—criticism, intention, pushiness—but it’s hard to take it, so remember that odd clash of bravery and unusual vulnerability: intuitive awareness at one moment, and the tendency to drift into illusion or fantasy the next.

Friday begins with a prickly Virgo Moon, able to see the work and super touchy about criticism. We may notice our health needs extra care, fresh food and a work-out. This weekend is dominated by the full Moon, partially eclipsed in Libra, which spotlights Libra Moon’s encouragement of love, fairness, and social justice as it opposes the Aries Sun’s fierce protection of personal rights, whether for a beloved or a country. We need to find a healthy, integrative middle path.
Midweek, as the Moon enters Scorpio, we can retreat and turn our focus inward if we feel over exposed to interactions and all the delicacy of relationship subtleties and dueling needs, or we could lash out if we feel our vulnerability has been tread upon. Instead, we could try something totally different where the emotional field is less delicate. This is also true for some deep, long-term problems. Old war zones, both personal and political, can inflame as Mars semi-squares Chiron. There is no point in retrying old solutions which did not work. Try something completely different.
Day By Day:
Friday, March 22: Our feelings and thoughts cross signals as the emotional Moon enters intellectual Virgo while direct Mars enters subtle Pisces, while those planets oppose. Reel in a judgmental edge and be kind to everyone, oneself included; critique the work, not the person. Do not fall into prickly victim mode, do leap into compassionate action where warranted. Tonight, engage in thought self-care and do not push.
Moon opposes Mars 12:33 AM, Moon enters Virgo 1:41 AM, Mars enters Pisces 5:47 PM.
Saturday, March 23: Listen to last night’s dreams in the morning (though they could process anxiety more than reality) as the Moon opposes Saturn. They could point to what we need to do for our peace of mind. Virgo nudges us to get our ship in order, finish loose ends, and prepare. Nurture camaraderie through collaborative chores. Tonight, biting wit can cover sensitive feelings; enjoy the humor but be kind.
Moon opposed Saturn 3:17 AM, Moon opposed Venus 6:54 AM, Moon trine Jupiter 9:21 AM, Moon trine Uranus 7:10 PM.
Sunday, March 24: Sleep in this morning if possible as the Moon opposes Neptune. Drift and dream, and listen to the soul. Midday warms our hearts; find people lovely and they expand as Venus sextiles Jupiter under a waxing Libra Moon. If some emotional story winds up, enjoy, but don’t get caught up in a dramatic future. Stay in the present moment.
Moon opposed Neptune 9:49 AM, Venus sextile Jupiter 10:36 AM, Moon enters Libra 2:37 PM, Moon trine Pluto 6:10 PM.
Monday, March 25: Shine and experiment. This morning’s full Moon shines its light on any tension between our individual delights and the need to make compromises for relationships and for how we are embedded in our social context. Love up those connections, but make no compromises of the core—it’s not a paradox to take care of both oneself and beloveds, though it takes creativity.
Full Moon lunar eclipse at 1 AM 5° Libra, Venus semi-square Pluto 4:57 AM, Sun semi-square Uranus 10 AM.
Tuesday, March 26: Rush and wait. Leap ahead boldly and worry. Listen to the inner fire and honor relationships. The paradoxes continue. Notice the conflicts within and answer them one at a time. Respect other people’s dithering. Let’s embrace complexity rather than let it stall us out at the crossroads.
Moon opposed Chiron 4:15 AM, Moon opposed Mercury 5:08 AM.
Wednesday, March 27: Impatient tails twitch under a guarded Scorpio Moon and feisty Aries sun—a combustible combination in the best and worst ways. Do not try people’s patience. Let’s pace ourselves and not push our own patience. We’ll have what it takes to handle real problems but can imagine catastrophes in a glitch. Make sure the object is really broken, not just stuck, before tossing it across the room. Stay present and find a worthy focus. Be creative around old unsolved problems as Mars perfects its semi-square to Chiron.
Moon enters Scorpio 3:02 AM, Moon square Pluto 6:37 AM, Moon trine Mars 10:18 AM, Mars semi-square Chiron 10:50 AM.
Thursday, March 28: The sparky focus continues, but with more flexibility and creative curiosity as Venus sextiles Uranus. We may notice talent and warmth where we’d missed it before. Or we may spot a potential opening and nurture a new opportunity. Be warm but not impinging, we may need extra personal space. Fewer words and more examples further, though, so keep to the point.
Moon trine Saturn 5:10 AM, Venus sextile Uranus 7:58 AM, Moon opposed Jupiter 11:58 AM, Moon opposed Uranus 7:45 PM, Moon trine Venus 9:01 PM.
