If you could spend an afternoon sitting here by Lake Fred with anyone, who would you choose? 🦅 #beautifulStocktonU
My mom
Jon Pierre Richert and Leonard Kline. Both amazing professors that shaped who I am today. My balance between law and music
Ruth Bader GInsberg
Nice photos, Laura. I commend your Mom for raising a marvelously great person like YOU!!
Charles Reynolds former Editor & Publisher of The Press of AC and the person who gave me the needed push to finish at Stockton; Stockton Professor Nayda Conway my Stockton inspiration to get the job done!
A girl named Patti.
I love a thoughtful questions like this, I have two unrelated answers for two different reasons. I would love to sit with Dr. Mona Margarita who was the first academic person who saw in me all the things I could not. She pushed me, challenged me and provided conversations and experiences that literally changed the trajectory of my life and career, she believed in me when I could not believe in myself. She is the reason I persevered and have 2 Master degrees. I thank you and I know my family is so grateful our paths crossed. The other person I would truly love to just sit and talk to is Phil Collins. I have always wanted to be able to just kick it with him and discuss the impact his music had on me and still does. I just always felt like we would connect.
My father Don Dovey, who drove me to the unfinished Stockton State College campus for the first time in July of 1971. We stood right there looking at Lake Fred ( yet to be named) . He would be amazed. So much to fill him in about.

2yMy grandmother Agnes Thigpen, who taught me right from wrong her words still resonate with me until this day. She took me to live stage performances, ( I saw the Nut Cracker 20 times), she taught me to ice skate, roller skate and was a big advocate for education. I am so thankful for the life education she provided me.
