Stockton Downs Eastern 60-37

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (3-0) remained unbeaten as the Ospreys downed Eastern University (1-2) by a 60-37 score on Thursday night. Adriyana Jennings (Camden/Winslow Twp.) topped the Ospreys with her first career double-double of 15 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
 
Stockton took a 19-10 lead after one period on 7-13 shooting, led by Madison LaRosa (Oceanport/Shore Regional) with a pair of three-point baskets. The Eagles forged a slim 6-5 lead before the Ospreys ripped off 12 straight points to take the lead after one frame.
 
Stockton's defense clamped down in the second period, holding the visitors to just three points while the Ospreys potted 16 to take a commanding 35-13 margin at the break.
 
The game started to turn in the Eagles favor in the third quarter, but Stockton was able to keep the contest level at 11-11 in the frame. The Ospreys were able to hold off the Eagles the rest of their way to take the 60-37 victory.
 
LaRosa added 15 points and a game-high four steals with freshman Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) chipping in with 10 markers. Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack) pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds to go with a game-high four assists and tied Jennings with two blocks.
 
Stockton's defense held the Eagles to 20.0% (12-60) shooting, including 1-17 from behind the arc.
 
For Eastern, Jeriyah Johnson scored 12 markers, with Taryn Woodson grabbing seven rebounds.
 
Stockton will travel to Doylestown, PA on Saturday for their next matchup against Delaware Valley University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 pm.
