Our 71 Oglethorpe St. NW adoption center is open for adoptions 12 - 7 p.m. every day.

Our 1201 New York Ave. NE adoption center is open for dog adoptions 12 - 7 p.m. every day.

Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable animals.

Virtual adoptions will continue for animals in foster homes. From the comfort of your home you can select an animal, set up a virtual meet-and-greet and even conduct an adoption counseling session.

We have many wonderful animals waiting to meet you and multiple ways to help you meet your match!

Step 1: Find Your Match!

Our adoptable animals' profiles are available online and updated in real-time. View our adoptable dogs, cats, and small and exotic animals!

Step 2: Learn More & Meet the Animal!

Before filling out an application, meet the animal.

FOR ANIMALS AT OUR ADOPTION CENTERS: 
Our 71 Oglethorpe St. NW adoption center is open 12 - 7 p.m. every day for in-person adoptions. Our 1201 New York Ave. NE adoption center is open 12 - 7 p.m. every day for dog adoptions (please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs).

Adoptions are served on a first-come, first-served process. We do not place animals on hold. Be sure to bring a leash for your new dog or a carrier for your new cat or small animal. Most animals are ready to go home with you right after you meet them! 

FOR ANIMALS IN FOSTER HOMES:
Using the contact information located in the animal’s online bio, email the foster parent directly for more information about the animal and to set up an opportunity to meet the animal virtually.

Step 3: Schedule Your Counseling Session

After your meet and greet, please be prepared to stay for counseling and take your animal home the same day!
