Jack Swarbrick, vice president and James E. Rohr Director of Athletics, announced to season ticket holders Monday, Aug. 31, that due to the pandemic, attendance to home football games this year is limited to 20 percent of stadium capacity. Seating will be reserved for students, faculty and staff, a decision that is consistent with the St. Joseph County Health Department's counsel to limit attendance at University events to members of the Notre Dame campus community. After fulfilling student demand, single-game tickets will be made available to faculty and staff with priority given to season ticket holders. Purchases are limited to two tickets per game. To avoid contagion, invited guests should be someone in the immediate household. Masks are required at all times and a University ID will be required. The single-game ticket sale will begin no earlier than Sept. 8. Also, tailgating will not be permitted this season. These decisions, while made in the interest of community health, will undoubtedly affect the local economy, which University President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., addresses in this message.
