Egg Harbor City, N.J. – Stockton student-athletes, coaches and administrators came together on Tuesday for an evening of discussion about healthy and respectful manhood followed by bowling and pizza. The event, which was held at Strike Zone Lanes, was part of Stockton Athletics' participation in the
LIVERESPECT curriculum.
A total of 89 Stockton student-athletes, including males and females, and seven athletics staff members watched the trailer for the documentary
The Mask You Live In. The video was followed by feedback and discussion about combatting sexual violence and promoting a culture of respect, equity and value for all. After the video and discussion, those in attendance took to the lanes for bowling and pizza.
The LIVERESPECT curriculum is a program that seeks to empower males to better understand healthy relationships and more effectively negotiate relationships with their peers. The program was developed by the
A Call to Men organization.
The event was planned by the athletic department's LIVERESPECT Organizing Group headed by
Jayson Resch, coordinator of cross country and track & field and including student-athletes Will Pellicier (men's lacrosse), Garrhet Reedy (baseball), Kyle Leach (men's soccer), Jay Marchese (baseball), Lucas Smith (track & field) and Andrew Slinger (baseball).
