'Destination Cannabis' webinar

Galloway, N.J. — A group of cannabis experts will lead an online panel at 1 p.m. March 10 to discuss legal recreational use, its impact on resort destinations and opportunities for New Jersey hospitality and tourism businesses.

The free one-hour webinar titled “Destination Cannabis: Evolving Cannabis Hospitality and Tourism for a Mainstream Audience” is presented by the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism (LIGHT) at the School of Business at Stockton University and the Cannabis and Hemp Research Initiative at Stockton (CHRIS).

The panel will be moderated by Rob Mejia, a teaching specialist in Stockton’s Cannabis Studies minor and the president of Our Community Harvest: A Cannabis Education Company.

The panelists for the Zoom webinar include:

  • Brian Applegarth, founder of the Cannabis Travel Association and the co-founder and chief strategy officer of Cultivar Brands, which specializes in cannabis travel
  • Elizabeth Becker, founder of HiBnb, a cannabis tourism website
  • Susan Dupej, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada

Stockton is one of the first universities to offer a minor in Cannabis Studies. CHRIS provides cannabis and hemp education, research and resources for local and national markets and demonstrates Stockton’s commitment to cannabis education through panel discussions and an annual Cannabis Curriculum Convening.
