Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (13-6, 5-1 NJAC) cruised to a 3-0 sweep of Rutgers-Newark (0-15, 0-6 NJAC) in a conference road match for its sixth consecutive win. Fourteen Ospreys saw action in the rout.
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) paced Stockton with 11 kills followed by
Haley Green (Springville, Utah/Maple Mountain) with nine kills.
Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) tallied a match-high six blocks plus five kills.
Setter
Aubrey Rentzel (York, Pa./Central York) led all players in a trio of categories with match-highs of 16 assists, 11 digs and five aces.
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) dealt 10 assists.
Stockton opened the match by scoring the first nine points, and the Ospreys never looked back as they took the first set 25-13. In the second frame, the Ospreys reeled off eight points in a row for a 10-3 lead and later closed with seven consecutive points for a 25-8 triumph. Stockton used another eight-point outburst in the third set to close out the match 25-12.
Stockton will host a tri-match on Saturday with contests against Hunter College at 11 a.m. and Manhattanville College at 1 p.m.
