Logan Twp., NJ – Stockton University competed in the Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday, hosted by Rowan University. Both squads finished in 23rd place on the afternoon. The Osprey men competed against 30 teams over the 8K course, while the women ran against 28 squads over 6K. A combined 479 runners competed in the races.
Daniel Do (Galloway/Absegami) led the Stockton men's team, placing 61st out of 256 runners in a time of 25:39.8 over the 8K course.
Dominique Tye (Roxbury/Roxbury) topped the Stockton women with a time of 24:14.6 over 6K to place 118th out of 223 competitors.
Four Stockton women ran personal bests behind Tye on the day. Freshman
Sabrina Lugo (Corpus Christi, TX/John Marshall) finished 123rd with a time of 24:23.9, with junior
Jessie Klenk (Somerdale/Sterling) running a new personal best of 24:29.3 for 134th.
Fellow junior
Claudia Baydar (Hillsborough/Hillsborough) placed 140th in 24:33.9 and
Nayeli Garcia (Bridgeton/Bridgeton) ran 25:06.5 for 166th place as the fifth Osprey to score points in the meet.
Do was followed by
Kyle Navalance (Toms River/TR North) in 140th place with a time of 26:42.6, with senior
Matt Cohen (Robbinsville/Robbinsville) three spots behind him in 26:45.9 for 143rd.
Freshman
Matthew Keidat (Margate/Holy Spirit) posted a new personal best over 8K with a time of 27:54.2 for 197th place. Sophomore
Chris Bakley (Pennsauken/Pennsauken) rounded out the top five scorers in 206th place with a time of 28:05.9.
The Ospreys will be off until November 2 when they host the NJAC Championships in Galloway at 10:30 a.m.
