Star Trek vet William Shatner, 88, files for divorce from wife of 18 years Elizabeth, 61, but 'with a prenup and no kids it should be final soon'
- Shatner, who played Captain Kirk on TV's Star Trek, has filed for divorce

- So it has been claimed by TMZ the divorce process will be speedy
- He has listed in court papers his date of separation as February 1, 2019
William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk on TV's Star Trek, has filed for divorce from his wife of 18 years, Elizabeth.
The news broke on Tuesday but the divorce process has already been in the works since February when the couple first split. And TMZ noted that because there was a prenup in place, they never had children together and neither is asking for spousal support, the divorce should be finalized fairly soon.
Elizabeth, 61, is the 88-year-old star's fourth wife.

'The Shatners are still negotiating the financial terms,' a source told the site.
'Per the terms of the prenup, neither party will receive any support from the other,' the insider added. Shatner is reportedly worth $100M.
His lawyer is Laura Wasser who worked with Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian.
In 2014 he gushed over Elizabeth during an interview with The Guardian.
'I married my [fourth] wife, Elizabeth, 14 years ago and I was attracted by her beauty first of all, which was an old syndrome for me … and I think I lucked out because she had so many other qualities as well,' said the actor.

William has three other ex-wives.

They are Canadian actress Gloria Rand, whom he was wed to from 1956 until 1969. Together Shatner and Rand had three daughters Leslie, 61, Lisabeth, 58, and Melanie, 55.
Next he got married to Marcy Lafferty, whom he was wed to from 1973 until 1996.
His third wife was Nerine Kidd, whom he was wed to from 1997 until 1999 when she was found dead at their home. She had been battling alcoholism.

This is Elizabeth's second divorce. Her first husband was Michael Glenn Martin, 88.
William was on Star Trek from 1966 until 1966. Other notable TV shows include TJ Hooker (1982 until 1986) and Boston Legal from 2004 until 2008.
The Canadian was also on Better Late Than Never from 2016 to 2017.
His last film was Devil's Revenge with Jackie Dallas which came out this year.
