Today, 45 organizations across Texas sent the following letter to the office of Governor Greg Abbott setting out specific state steps urgently needed to ensure infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays continue to receive life-changing therapies and services through Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) programs during this emergency period.
ECI providers are working hard to continue to provide services from a safe distance and HHSC ECI division has been in constant communication with ECI providers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, challenges remain. Currently, the network of ECI providers is facing extraordinary challenges providing uninterrupted services to children and families during this crisis due to certain state and federal regulations and limited funding.
