Implementation Process

Faculty/Staff and Student Advisory Committees took recommendations to the University Steering Committee (USC). The USC leads UMBC’s shared governance process. The committee establishes rules insuring the proper coordination of the five Senates, appoints ad hoc committees on shared issues and represents the interests of the five Senates to the UMBC Administration, the USM Administration, and the Board of Regents. The USC worked with the Implementation Team to finalize recommendations for submission to the Vice Presidents and Deans, who reviewed and signed off on proposed actions, policies, budget allocations, etc., which and submitted them to the President for final approval.
