Jed Schwendiman ’92 and Paea LePendu ’96
Jed Schwendiman ’92 and Paea LePendu ’96 will soon celebrate their 30th anniversary after meeting for the first time in Lyman Hall. Both worked on campus as students and then returned as staff members. Their appreciation for Whitman College motivates them to support a variety of areas across campus including academic programs, student organizations, residence halls and most recently The Nancy Tavelli Scholarship. Schwendiman, a Psychology major at Whitman, is now the Vice President for Advancement at the University of Redlands and serves as a member of the President’s Advisory Board at Whitman. LePendu, a Mathematics major, is an Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, Riverside.
Fifty Under 50 is a new initiative recognizing emerging leaders in philanthropy. Members are graduates of the class of 1989 or later and have made gifts and pledges exceeding $50,000 to the campaign.
