In the new Growing Up Latino episode, Prince Royce tells us how it was to grow up in a Dominican home.
Prince Royce’s parents moved to New York City from the Dominican Republic, and in New York, they started working in a factory, which taught the superstar to always work hard for what he wants. “It applies to my music,” he says. “Instead of me waiting for things to come to me, I will always go out and try to find the work.”
His best memory en la casa has always been having dinner with the family. “Every time that I go to New York, I always try to get my mom’s food. I like her lasagna a lot,” he says.
Prince Royce was not a big fan of telenovelas (soap operas), but while growing up, he watched Luz Clarita and Carrusel. He also shares his life motto: “Live life smiling.”
