Fairfax, Va. -- George Mason Assistant Vice President, Director of Athletics Marvin Lewis announced today a new organizational framework and staff promotions restructuring Mason's Athletics leadership team.

As part of the reorganization, Lewis promoted two senior leaders, former interim Athletic Director Nena Rogers and senior associate AD, CFO Jenny Everett. Additionally, Lewis streamlined the responsibilities of several team members to foster increased efficiency and collaboration among the units, creating a more enriching experience for Mason student-athletes.

Entering her 25th season with Mason Athletics, Rogers will assume the title of Deputy Athletics Director, Student Services and Performance. She will be the Patriots' Senior Woman's Administrator (SWA) and continue her leadership of the department's Diversity and Inclusion team and the student Care team.

"Nena Rogers embodies everything you want in a leader for our athletics department," said Lewis. "She's fiercely committed to and passionate about the holistic student-athlete experience that we strive to foster at Mason. It's evident from my conversations with university leaders, coaches, student-athletes, and community supporters, how much Nena is respected by so many at our University."

Most recently, Rogers served as the department's interim athletics director in 2023. Her student-centered approach guided Mason Athletics to an outstanding academic year with more than 50 Provost Scholars and 20 programs that accumulated a GPA above 3.0. Mason's 500 student-athletes combined for an overall 3.28 GPA in 2022-23.

During her administration, three programs won Atlantic 10 Conference Championships in the spring of 2023: outdoor women's track and field, softball, and baseball. It marked the first time that three different programs celebrated championships in the same calendar year since 2014 – Masons' inaugural year in the A-10.

The former Patriots National Champion will also have sports supervision of four athletics programs: women's basketball, women's lacrosse, women's volleyball, and wrestling. Rogers will continue to serve as our athletic department's liaison at University and Atlantic 10 meetings and functions.

Everett's new title is Sr. Associate Athletics Director, Finance & Administration/Chief Financial Officer after serving as the department's Sr. Associate AD, CFO, since September 23, 2021. Everett facilitated the department's adoption of a new financial model. Her detailed approach and vision have guided Mason to a balanced budget in 2023, marking the first time the athletic department has done so in nearly a decade.

Throughout her two-decade career, Everett has served a multitude of financial leadership positions at public and private companies in sports, education, and technology.

Everett served as Chief Financial Officer for a Virginia-based technology company focused on long-range 3D facial recognition technology.  She also served as CEO and President of The Walter T. Kelley Company in Kentucky and formerly worked in private equity with The Carlyle Group. Everett is a Co-Founder of HUSEL, a company formed in 2016 by former Division I athletes to help the next generation of athletes elevate their game through specialized one-on-one and small group training.

The Wake Forest all-American formerly played for the United States National Field Hockey Team and represented the US in international competitions such as The World Cup, New Zealand Test Series, and Japan 6 Nation Tournament.

"Jenny has paved the way for Mason to have a vision for financial sustainability," said Lewis. "She has a great entrepreneurial spirit and a strong understanding of the ever-evolving financial landscape of intercollegiate athletics. Her competitive fire as a former NCAA All-American, financial acumen, and tireless work ethic make her an integral member of our team."

In addition to overseeing finance and budget operations, Everett will add human resources, equipment operations, contract management, and revenue generation to her purview, including corporate sponsorships and ticket operations, and will be the sports administrator for men's golf.

In addition to Rogers and Everett, Lewis' strategic team is comprised of Todd Bramble, Deputy AD, Intercollegiate Athletics; Malcolm Grace, Deputy AD, Compliance and NCAA Governance, Zack Bolno, Deputy AD, External Relations; and Andrew Lieber, Sr. Associate AD, Capital Planning, Facilities, and Events.

"In my first two months at Mason, it's been exciting to engage with internal and external Mason stakeholders," added Lewis. "During the transition, I'm very grateful to our coaches and staff for their hard work and commitment to serving our student-athletes in preparation for the academic and athletic year. I look forward to an exciting first year collaborating and leading our team."
