Sexual Violence/Misconduct Resources for Care and Support

For emergencies, call UMBC Police at 410-455-5555 or local police at 911.

If you have experienced sexual violence/misconduct, relationship abuse, stalking, or another form of interpersonal violence, remember: it is not your fault, and you are not alone. Care and support are available.

There are multiple options for support. The information below is provided to help you choose what is right for you.

If you are an observer or are supporting a survivor, thank you. The resources on this page are available to support you too.

CONFIDENTIAL

Conversations with these resources will remain confidential, except, when there is clear and imminent danger that someone’s life is at risk, there is apparent or suspected abuse of a child or dependent adult, or there is a legal obligation to reveal such information under an enforceable court order. If so, identifying information must be shared with UMBC’s Title IX coordinator.

UMBC values the privacy of its students, faculty, and staff and will make every effort to respect and safeguard the information they share. Information related to a report will only be shared with others on a limited need-to-know basis. However, following federal and state law, in some circumstances certain UMBC community members have specific reporting obligations to UMBC’s Title IX coordinator. These resources are required to immediately share the known details of an incident of prohibited conduct (date, time, location, names of parties involved, description of the incident, etc.) to the Title IX coordinator.
