My kind of country.
Today, Jesse Daniel released a new song from his forthcoming fourth studio album Countin’ The Miles, which finds him reflecting on the unique aspects of both country music, and life in the country, and what makes it so special.
He says “That’s My Kind Of Country” was inspired by the core values of what defines “country,” and has always believed that country music, and country living, go hand in hand:
“For years, fans of my music have called it ‘My Kind Of Country,’ taking ownership of it and stating that it’s all the things about country music they love rolled into one. That phrase has stuck with me over the years.
In a sea of other artists, all vying for a moment of attention, anybody with a cowboy hat seems to have a shot at it these days – ‘country’ or not.
I am here to firmly state what I love about the genre that has changed my life and to highlight the fact that country music and country living go hand in hand. This is country music as I know and love it.”
Countin’ The Miles was recorded at Austin’s Arlyn Studios, and features several other very talented musicians including pianist Ronnie Huckaby and the aforementioned Elders of George Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band, as well as bassist Kevin Smith, who a longtime member of Willie Nelson’s Family Band.
The California native is known for keeping the Bakersfield sound of country music alive and well, and this next release is shaping up to be another solid addition to his impressive catalog.
Daniel has also released a duet with Ben Haggard, son of the great Merle Haggard, “Tomorrow’s Good Ol’ Days” as well as “Comin’ Apart At The Seams.”
Countin’ The Miles is due out everywhere on June 7th.
