| FSB Australia | Experience the highlights of Australia this winter! During this program, you will study either Business Law or Strategy Works, and Business culture. Starting in Cairns, we will see sites such as the Daintree Rainforest and visit Reef Teach to learn about sustainability and research. | FSB London | With a rich heritage of property rights, global trade and being the world’s financial hub, London is the best venue for the exploration of the roots of the common law system and banking. No trip to London would be complete without a tour of the Tower of London, the Royal Courts of Justice, and Parliament. Company visits and guest speakers round out our time. | FSB Southern Europe | Your journey starts with an overnight stay in Madrid before traveling to Burgos, a small historic city boasting stunning medieval architecture. You will see the Burgos Cathedral, wander the Old Quarter, have classes and company visits. Your Southern European journey then takes you to Florence, Italy for the final leg of this trip. | FSB Spain | Spend your winter term in beautiful Barcelona! The program takes place primarily in Barcelona, with an excursion to Seville, and some time in Madrid. | Pura Vida Education and Community in Costa Rica | Immersing students in a different culture than their own has deep potential to be a transformative experience, particularly when the focus is on field experiences and the intersectionality of families, communities, and education. The design of this global education program is to expose students to communities, learn about various schooling practices, and engage with people from three different geographical Costa Rican areas: San Jose in the Central Valley, Monteverde in the mountains/cloud forest of Puntarenas Province, and Flamingo in the Pacific Ocean/coastal area of Guanacaste Province. | TCE 420A (3) and choice of TCE/FSW 225 (3) OR TCE 420D (3) |
| Servant Leadership in a Crisis: Humanitarian Aid | This course will examine the evolution and challenges of humanitarian aid workers, with a particular focus on the role of the servant leader. Study locations will include Luxembourg and Geneva. Highlights of the Geneva study tour include: visiting the United Nations for a 3-day immersion program and a vist to the International Red Cross museum to learn about the roles of these organizations in humanitarian aid, as well as a chocolate tour and a day in the Alps. | NSG 399 (3) |
| Paris Cultural Capital | Make the Louvre your classroom; learn about the political philosophies that sparked the French Revolution at Versailles; and discover Hemingway’s Moveable Feast in the spaces that inspired authors of the Lost Generation. This three-week credit workshop focuses on Paris as a capital of transnational cultural and artistic production. Students study masterpieces of French and American literature and culture, from Medieval fables to experimental avant-gardes like Surrealism, to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s site-specific performance at the Louvre. | Archives and Artifacts: Introduction to Humanities Research in London | This interdisciplinary workshop introduces students to archival and humanities research over Winter Term at the British Library and other London archives including the London School of Economics and the Wellcome Collection. | HUM 490/590D (3) |
| Italy Visions and Contrasts | This study abroad program takes place in Florence (Italy) with a trip to Siena. | Law and Policy in London | This program is set in London to expose students to the foundations of law and policy on which the US system is built. As the birthplace of Common Law, Great Britain holds many artifacts and institutions that have substantially shaped the legal system in the United States. The British political system also has many similarities and differences with the U.S. system, which offers opportunity for introspection on U.S. policymaking while at the same time offering opportunity for learning about governance from an international perspective. | Business and Spanish in Argentina | The Program offers a unique cultural and language immersion experience for Spanish majors and minors over the course of 3 weeks in Argentina. The program provides students with an opportunity to live, experience and explore the culture, people and language in a safe and enriching academic setting abroad. The classroom is extended far beyond the confines of the physical space, as students are culturally integrated, through home-stays, into small town life in Argentina. | The Way is El Camino | The Way of St. James is a journey like no other to deepen understandings of Spanish and European cultures (and, by extension, both Western civilization and pilgrimage studies) is something that anyone out of the hundreds of thousands who have done El Camino would be more than likely to corroborate. This course takes place during three weeks of the Winter Term, while hiking along The Way of St. James (Camino Mozárabe and Camino Francés, a UNESCO world heritage site). Independently of the academic component of the course, each participant may have a different personal approach to The Way. A traveling experience, not only physical but also emotional, The Way of St. James may become a religious pilgrimage, an introspective encounter with oneself, an individual challenge of walking around 12-14 miles daily, or a cultural journey through a different space, and also a different time, as far back as the 11th century. | SPN 399A/599A (6) |
| Integrating Health and Spanish in Costa Rica | integrating Spanish and Health provides an opportunity for students who want to build language skills, participate in experiential/service learning, explore global health care issues, and experience language / cultural immersion. | Wall Street Week | This is an experiential course to give students an opportunity to learn and practice equity analysis skills in a real-world setting. After completing this course students will be able to conduct equity analysis using appropriate methodology. In addition, students will be able to develop and give an effective presentation on the merits of a particular position to industry executives. | CBL Emerging Leaders Consulting Experience | A critical component of the Isaac & Oxley CBL is to reinforce and enhance its values by exposing students to actual business leaders across a diverse set of companies to see how they work with various stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and create lasting value. | Accounting and Tax Profession | This course is a field experience that includes visits to Washington D.C. and New York City. Students will meet with policy makers, regulators and professionals that use financial accounting information to make capital market decisions. | ACC 490D (3) |
| Brewing Industry Field Study | Take a deep dive into one of the largest, most dynamic industries out there as we visit over 40 breweries, hop farms, yeast labs, packaging and equipment manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and industry groups on a cross-country tour of industry hot-spots in Ohio, Colorado, and North Carolina. | Inside Hollywood | Based for the first two weeks in Los Angeles, the workshop will provide an overview of the entertainment industry, including film and television preproduction, production and editing, script development, casting, entertainment law, administration and finance, development, distribution, and marketing. The first two weeks include lectures, discussions, on-site visits to studios, television networks, and shadowing a media professional.
