UofSC now offering COVID-19 saliva testing to the public

The Diagnostic Genomics Laboratory in the College of Pharmacy at UofSC is now offering its quick, noninvasive COVID-19 saliva testing to the public.

  • No appointment or referral required: Results are provided within 48 hours after the sample is collected. Same day processing is available for an additional fee.
  • No nasal swabs here: Simply provide 5ml of saliva into a barcoded test tube (the equivalent of one teaspoon.) Hydrate well before testing.
  • Cost to test: The fee for testing is $70 per visit. Credit/debit and HSA card are accepted. Save time by pre-paying and completing your registration online.

Safe, reliable testing: We are a HIPAA covered entity. Our saliva test has been validated in a high complexity CLIA-certified laboratory. The sensitivity and specificity of this test is >97.5% accurate.

About the DGL: The Diagnostic Genomics Lab played a major role in efforts to re-open campus safely for the 2020-21 academic year. Since July 2020, the lab has processed more than 300,000 COVID-19 tests, helping to keep our community safe.

The DGL will continue to provide COVID-19 saliva testing at no cost to current students, faculty and staff at UofSC for fall semester.
