Jumu’ah Prayer
Friday, October 20, 1:55 p.m., Cannon Chapel
Salaat Ul-Jumah also known as Friday prayers will be held in the sanctuary of Cannon Chapel. It is a congregational prayer that is established on the blessed day of Friday and is a highlight of the week for many in the Emory Muslim community. Hindu Aarti and Durga Puja
Friday, October 20, 5:00 p.m., Cannon Chapel Sanctuary
Aarti is a form of worship in which a lamp, typically an oil lamp, is circled around a symbol, image, or deity while singing prayers of veneration. In addition to Aarti, we will be performing an interactive Durga Puja in light of the festival of Navaratri. Join us for an evening of celebration and community. For nearly 30 years, Emory University has been planning an Interfaith Center to be a home for our increasing religious diversity as well as a place to encourage dialogue, understanding, and peacemaking across faiths and with all people of spirituality and goodwill.
