Aviv Regev, PhD, recipient of the 2021 Vanderbilt Prize in Biomedical Science, gave her Vanderbilt Prize Discovery Lecture on April 14.
Regev, executive vice president of Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED), is an internationally known computational and systems biologist and founding co-chair of the Human Cell Atlas initiative, an international community of scientists working to create comprehensive reference maps of all human cells.
Following her lecture, Paige Vega, a PhD student in the Vanderbilt Department of Cell and Developmental Biology who will be mentored by Regev, was recognized as the 2021 Vanderbilt Prize Student Scholar.
