HIKI NŌ 2|22|22: #1313

This special episode will reveal the winning entries of the 2022 HIKI NŌ Winter Challenge, which invited video projects that met the theme: OUR NEW NORMAL: A DAY IN THE LIFE.

Students were challenged to capture their current school life on video in just five days, as the COVID-19 pandemic presses on for a third year. During the normal HIKI NŌ cycle, students receive more time and one-on-one mentorship help from industry professionals.

The result is a medley of submissions that include thoughtful stories, confessional-style vlogs, and interviews with students and teachers on campus.

This episode is hosted by Maui High School sophomore Emi Sado, who highlights the winners from the middle and high school divisions.

Scoring took into account how well the project met the theme, along with HIKI NŌ production and storytelling criteria.
