“Whether you speak Spanish or not, Interminable’s spirit and energy is undeniable [... They do] more than just make music, they create community.”

— Samantha Sullivan for WXPN's The Key

Interminable is a Philly-based band that explores our connections as diasporic peoples through original music in Spanish, weaving together an innovative tapestry of sounds inspired by Mexican son jarocho, jazz, rock, funk, and electronic music.  Their music stands as a testament to the power of community-building, creating a oasis of nourishment admist an increasingly harsh world.  Their songs inspire us all to harness our creative power, and actively build a more just and liberated world that celebrates queer and trans, Black and brown voices.

Award-winning bandleader Ximena Violante sings and plays the electric guitar and the jarana, a guitar-like Mexican instrument.  Marty Gottlieb-Hollis (Martronimous) on trumpet and St. Clair Simmons III (The Fair Weather Band) on trombone join forces as a horn section.  Matt Jernigan (Paul Giess) on drumset delivers pure power to the rhythm, while Erik Kramer and Roger A. Martínez adorn the bass lines.  Together, they honor the memory of their late bassist, Yeho Bostick, through every groove played, every laugh shared, every good picture taken.

Born out of a chance encounter on the train in 2015, Interminable debuted a week later, opening for nationally-renowned cumbia group, Viento Callejero.  Over these last 10 years, the band has amassed an impressive portfolio, sharing stages across the East Coast and Mexico with renowned artists like Reyna Tropical, Las Cafeteras, and La Santa Cecilia.  They have headlined Philly's Latin Punk Fest, the Porchfest Afterparty,  performing at the Magic Gardens, World Café Live, and as a featured artist with Journey Arts.   They will make their Mann Center debut this summer.

Their debut album, rebirth::renacer, brought together 15 musicians from across the US and Mexico.  You can listen on bandcamp, Spotify, or watch the music video for Preludio + El Agua, featuring indigenous Zapoteca rapper Mare Advertencia Lirika.

Their upcoming release, The Lifegivers EP, will come out May 16 with a big celebration at Fallser Club - don't miss it!
