Yilu Liu

Governor’s Chair for Power Electronics

Yilu Liu is an electrical engineer specializing in smart-grid technologies in electrical power production and distribution.

Liu’s work focuses on developing new and better ways to monitor and understand the flow of electrical energy through the nation’s power grid.

Liu is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a fellow of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.). She holds a joint appointment with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and serves as deputy director of CURENT (Center for Ultra-Wide-Area-Resilient Electric Energy Transmission Networks) Engineering Research Center.
