Montgomery Gentry will release their seven-track EP Outskirts on June 14, and fans can listen to the title track one week early.
“Outskirts” highlights Montgomery Gentry’s blend of country and rock influences with a sing-along chorus and soaring guitar features perfect for the summer setting. “I’m all about that red dirt/ Hot girl in a T-shirt/ Sweat ring on my ball cap/ Cold beer in my hand when I get off work,” they sing on the chorus.
The EP includes songs that were recorded prior to Troy Gentry’s passing following a helicopter crash in 2017.
Outskirts marks the follow-up to the duo’s 2018 album Here’s to You. It features joint vocals from Montgomery Gentry’s Troy Gentry and Eddie Montgomery.
