Alan Digianantonio, Ed.D., has been named Associate Dean of Graduate Affairs and Director of the Center for Academic and Professional Enrichment. In his new role as Director of the Center for Academic and Professional Enrichment, Dr. Digianantonio will consult with University stakeholders to develop the Mission and framework for the Center for Academic and Professional Enrichment. In addition, he will work with relevant offices at Walsh to market the Center for Academic and Professional Enrichment while developing and overseeing a budget for the Center for Academic and Professional Enrichment in coordination with the Vice President for Academic Affairs. He will also coordinate current professional development and resources to establish a central location, encourage professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, including leadership training and investigate the steps and procedures to launch Walsh University Press.  

 A 1975 graduate of Walsh, Dr. Alan Digianantonio joined the University professionally in 2004 as an adjunct graduate faculty member in Education. He joined the faculty full-time as Associate Professor in 2010 and was promoted to Professor in 2014 teaching graduate coursework in the Division of Education. He was instrumental in the development of the educational leadership program and served on various college-wide and division level committees. In 2014, he was named Director of Graduate Education Studies. In 2018, he was appointed Associate Dean of Graduate Affairs.

Prior to Walsh, he served as Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology for the Diocese of Youngstown Office of Catholic Schools from 1998-2010.  In this role, he oversaw and directed the curricular and instructional program for all high schools and elementary schools, which included development of courses of study and assisting schools through the accreditation process with the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association. From 1975-1998, he served in various roles at St. Thomas Aquinas High School including Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction, Interim Principal and English Teacher from 1975-1987.

 

Dr. Digianantonio earned both his Ed.D. in Educational Administration and MAED in English Education from the University of Akron, along with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Walsh University.
