Parking Enforcement Resumes June 22, 2020

Parking and Transportation Services has updated this web page to reflect a change in the date enforcement will begin, which is now Monday, June 22. Additionally, with the exception of S summer and R Permits, permit holders will be able to renew their permit for the fall academic renewal without reactivating their permit for the summer. The FAQs below further clarify that reactivation of permits is for the summer only. Information about permits for the fall will be shared in July, after the university announces plans for that academic semester. PTS recognizes the university’s fall plans will help inform individual permit decisions.

Enforcement

Beginning June 22, 2020, Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) will resume enforcement of parking for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Enforcement was paused in March as a result of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Note these important points now that enforcement is resuming:

  • Citations will be issued to those who do not have an active permit or do not pay a fee at a meter or garage. See permit information below.
  • Those bringing vehicles on campus must follow the university’s Parking & Traffic Regulations.

Permits

Optional Summer Garage Parking with an “A” Permit

Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) is allowing “A” permit holders to purchase a garage parking option for the remainder of this summer semester. See details here.

PTS deactivated permits in April as a result of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Review the following important information related to permits.

If you have already completed the survey to reactivate your summer permit and NEED to park on campus from June 22 through August 18:

  • You must purchase/reactivate your permit for the summer through My Parking Profile before parking on campus beginning June 22. This is a new, additional step that must be completed to reactivate your permit for summer. Those parking without an active permit are subject to citations beginning June 22.
  • While the permit may be reactivated anytime between now and August 18, if you wish to use payroll deduction, you must reactivate the permit by June 21. Permits purchased after June 21 will require payment in full for your permit. If you park using a deactivated permit, you will receive a citation.
  • Faculty/staff permits purchased from now through July 1 will be given the July 1 purchase price, providing credit for June parking through June 30.
  • Student permit prices are based on the purchase date, as they received full reimbursements.
  • When you reactivate the permit, you will need to print a dashboard permit to display while parking. The dashboard permit will be your permit through August 18. If you do not have a toll tag for garage access, you will need to print a QR code as well as your dashboard permit.

If you have completed the survey and reactivated your permit for the summer but no longer need it:

  • No action is required.

If you have a permit and have NOT completed the survey to reactivate your permit for the summer, but have a need to park on campus between June 22 and August 18:

  • Purchase/reactivate your permit for the summer through My Parking Profile before parking on campus beginning June 22.

  • When you reactivate the permit, you will need to print a dashboard permit to be displayed while parking. This will be your permit through August 18. If you do not have a toll tag for garage access, you will need to print a QR code as well as your dashboard permit.

If you do not have a current permit but need one:

  • If you do not already have a permit and will need one, faculty, staff, and students can purchase available permits through My Parking Profile.

  • Graduate students, including Post Docs, employed by the university who qualify for an A Permit can also purchase them online through My Parking Profile

If you have already purchased your permit in full instead of using payroll deduction:

  • Due to system requirements, if you need to park on campus this summer, you must purchase a summer permit regardless of whether your previous permit was paid in full. If you paid for your previous permit in full, you have received a partial 2-month reimbursement and will receive an additional reimbursement for the remaining permit year, which will be processed in July.

If you do not need to park on campus between June 22 and August 18:

  • If you have not completed the survey for summer reactivation, no further action is required. Permits not renewed for the fall will be forfeited, and spaces will be offered to those on our wait list.

  • If you have completed the survey for summer reactivation, no further action is required. Permits not renewed for the fall will be forfeited, and spaces will be offered to those on our wait list.

  • If you will not park on campus between now and Aug. 18, you do not need to renew your permit, and you will be offered a renewal of your permit for the fall semester the week of July 14.

If you need to park on campus for the fall:

  • Please look for your fall parking renewal the week of July 14. When the renewal information comes out, you will have several weeks to make a permit decision and seek guidance from your supervisor about your work location for the fall semester.

  • Reactivating a permit for the summer does not automatically renew your permit for the fall. With the exception of S summer and R Permits, permit holders will be able to choose whether they want to renew for the fall once renewal information is released in July.

  • If you had an S permit on March 13, 2020, you will be able to renew it without purchasing a summer S permit. Those that buy a S summer permit at a location other than their spring location will be required to renew in their spring location or in a non-waitlisted garage location.

If you have occasional need for campus parking:
