David M. Miller, III, Ph.D.
Professor, Cell and Developmental Biology
David Miller received his B. S. in Biology from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Rice University where he performed his thesis work with Dr.Florante Quiocho. From 1981-1983 he was a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Henry Epstein (Baylor College of Medicine) and from 1983-1984, he was a visiting scientist with Dr. Sydney Brenner (MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK). He was an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University (Zoology, 1984-1990) and at Duke University (Cell Biology, 1990-1994). He was appointed Associate Professor (1994-2005) and Professor (2005) in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University. David is also a member of the Neuroscience Program, Program in Developmental Biology and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center.
