Jordan's Story

"What I really needed was the ability to access truth and gain knowledge about issues and APPLY those to my life’s challenges."

Finding Hope Again

With the help of Discovering MErcy I can now understand the methods I’ve depended on to keep myself in a destructive cycle of anger and hiding from my true self. (my heart). My counseling time with Discovering MErcy is different because truth is shared in a meaningful way to the “trauma-impaired” person—shared in ways that offer hope for real progress and change.

Looking back on my journey I now see that the causes and effects related to personal trauma and neglect do not have to be the hallmark of a life-experience or identity. Though there are many tools I gathered along the way to survive...what I really needed was the ability to access truth and gain knowledge about issues and APPLY those to my life’s challenges. Discovering MErcy has made that possible-both in the sessions and through recommended resources.

One thing that I learned from Discovering MErcy that stood out to me is that there are real tools and effective methods available to undo destructive life-events, which to a survivor is quite difficult to believe or hope for.

At this point, what once was a faith (?) full of certainty and arrogance is now a dance of both wobbly trust and cautious hope that I will discover the true God as we (together) find the true me. This is my heart’s prayer and hope. For someone considering Discovering MErcy for ministry, I would absolutely without hesitation encourage them to start the process—and soon. Why wait?

I’m so grateful to have found a safe place with them. There is no judgment—only sound and professional guidance. There is love here, along with wisdom, knowledge and acceptance.
