The Everytown Center for the Defense of Gun Safety assists state and local governments in defending life-saving gun laws against gun lobby attacks in the courts.

The Center’s Second Amendment experts advise government lawyers who are defending state and local gun violence prevention laws against constitutional challenges. Our deep experience in Second Amendment litigation, both as amicus curiae and as lawyers representing government entities, provides us with unmatched expertise on the doctrine, historical laws, social science, and academic scholarship involved in these cases. Our litigators have participated in the leading Second Amendment cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts across the country and in the United States Supreme Court. We are available to consult on a formal or ad-hoc basis.

Resources on certain laws that see frequent gun-lobby-backed challenges—such as age restrictions and laws designating sensitive places as locations where carrying weapons is prohibited—are available on this website. For further information on these or other issues, please get in touch.

The Everytown Center for the Defense of Gun Safety is a project of Everytown Law.
