A Message from Your Ski and Snowboard School Leadership Team |
Well, we did it! We had so many successes during the season! As we wrap up our final week of Ski and Snowboard School lessons, I find myself reflecting not on the weather metrics or how many runs we had open in December, but on the moments that truly mattered. What stands out the most are the guests who pulled me aside to share how wonderful one of our employees was; the unmistakable pride and commitment our Ski and Snowboard School Team brings to our resort and to our craft; and the fun I had making turns with you, connecting during morning meetings, sharing conversations in the locker rooms, and spending time with you on the slopes.
I had a wonderful first season working alongside you. I cannot wait to do it all again next winter.
It’s been said before, but it remains as heartfelt as ever. I have immense gratitude and appreciation for the important work that you do, and for the blend of grit and professionalism you bring every single day. I believe that teamwork makes the dream work, and with our team of pros, our admin, support and leadership teams, and the entire resort supporting us in teaching guests to ski and ride, our future looks bright!
Thank you for being part of our season. I hope to see each of you back again next winter.

Communication – Vail Resorts does a good job of communication with employees - was the most improved (increase of 8 points over the December survey) and 3rd most commented on category (29 comments) in the February Continuous Listening Survey. This says that we’re doing better. And, so many comments means that there is a lot of passion around this topic; and we still have some work to do. Comments varied from too much communication to not enough communication to format of communication to timing of communication. We don’t have a fix for this yet. It’s something that we will delve into over the summer months to understand how to have the most effective communication that is the most meaningful and timely for you - between you and your leadership team, within the resort and within Vail Resorts as a whole. Thank you for giving us some kudos and thank you for continuing to raise this as an area for improvement.

→ Complete the Returner Interest Form on EpicEmployee
|
What happens if an employee indicates ‘No’ on returning or does not complete the Interest Form?
|
If an employee selects “No” or chooses not to submit the Returner Interest Form, they will be required to reapply through the external job posting process at jobs.VailResorts.com. This means they must submit a new application and, if rehired, will complete the full onboarding process.
|
→ Returner interest form: If you are a second job holder, your primary position is where your response will be directed towards.
|
→ If you are currently a part-time employee and are interested in returning in a full-time role, you must submit an application to indicate your interest in full-time employment.

After April 10th, instructor access to our locker room facilities will be turned off for the summer season. Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School is not responsible for any items that are removed/disappear from the locker rooms over the spring, summer, and fall. Any locks left on lockers may be cut from lockers if access to the locker is needed.

"It’s an honor to be recognized for all of these On-The-Spots. When this program first started, I thought it was somewhat silly, but over the years I’ve come to appreciate how each of these awards brings joy not only to me but others who receive them. I had no idea I had received so many this season.
I can recall days when it simply felt right to help as many people as possible because it was the right thing to do. At the end of the day, when I would see that I had received an On-The-Spot from someone, it made the effort feel truly worthwhile.
I likely received the most “Serve Others” On-The-Spots due to the number of people I assisted with the new Lesson Connect app, onboarding, signing into EpicEmployee, and recently helping with printing W-2s. During a family meeting earlier in the season, Nate Goldberg referred to me as the “Snowboard IT guy.” I jokingly told him not to call me that, but the name stuck. I can’t even count how many people I assisted with various IT-related issues throughout the season. By the end of the season, I really took pride in that role and remain happy to assist anyone who needs help with anything—just come find me."
|
"Thank you to everyone who took the time to recognize me through the OTS nominations. Throughout the day, we are all placed in a variety of situations whether it’s supporting the team, prioritizing safety, being inclusive, serving others, or simply doing the right thing. For me, these moments have always felt natural, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the team and support departments across the resort."
