Congratulations to Siteman Cancer Center for this amazing achievement! We are so proud to be a part of this amazing milestone. Special shoutout to Dr. Suzanne Thibodeaux for her contributions.
Siteman Cancer Center and Washington University School of Medicine have marked a major milestone in cancer care with our 10,000th bone marrow transplant. Ganesh’s journey — from his diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) to undergoing lifesaving treatment, thanks to his sister and others — highlights the extraordinary commitment of our physicians and other care providers and the powerful bonds of family. GatewaySeq is a tumor-only, targeted next-generation sequencing assay developed by WashU Medicine pathologists. It offers a genomic assessment of solid tumors at initial diagnosis, relapse, and/or metastasis, identifying key gene mutations, copy number alterations, and structural variants, as well as microsatellite instability status and tumor mutational burden.

Washington University researchers at Siteman Cancer Center are leaders in the development of immunotherapy, which uses the body’s own immune system to fight cancer. Decades ago, Robert Schreiber, PhD, began building the foundations that would later enable immunotherapy’s breakout. His work and that of colleagues elsewhere have created a new line of attack against the disease that we continue to study and refine for patients today. https://bit.ly/3XYF2V6 BioPharma Dive Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis
