Race4Chase is a six week youth triathlon training program aimed to provide kids ages 6-12 with a safe and non-competitive environment to discover the sport of triathlon. Under the direction of dedicated and spirited coaches and coach volunteers Race4Chase brings together kids from different athletic abilities and backgrounds. At the culmination of camp, all youth athletes compete in a USAT sanctioned triathlon at Camp Sloper in Southington on Saturday, August 3.
Complete one application per child. If selected, completion of a registration packet is required.
Due to limited space, selection priority will be given to first time registrations, a demonstration of need, and those indicating a sincere desire to participate for the duration of the program.

Each participant will try to meet a fundraising goal of $250. Every dollar donated to the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA stays in our communities and goes directly to serving youth and families in need. We will help participants with ideas to meet their fundraising goal.
Take your workout outside and help us celebrate spring by tidying up our grounds. Work-day projects include planting, cleaning, raking and more. This is going to be a fun, hands-on day where you can be part of making the YMCA Camp Tepee and Family Outdoor Center better then ever!
Please bring your own work gloves and we will provide snacks and refreshments.

The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA is hosting their annual Healthy Kids Day® on Saturday, April 20 10am-1pm. This free, open to the public, annual event features a variety of family-friendly activities to encourage healthy kids, healthy families and a healthy start to the summer season Come and celebrate with us! We’ll have activities and special demonstrations.

At our event, we are collecting Child-Friendly Hygiene Products such as children’s shampoo/conditioner, diapers/wipes/creams, baby soap/lotions, child toothbrushes/paste, child safe sunscreen, band-aids, and more for those in local shelters.
Once a month, on Friday afternoons, we will be running our Mad Scientist club for free in Child Watch! Our Mad Scientists Club will engage children in a variety of activities centering around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.

What is Child Watch? Children ages 6 weeks to 12 years can participate in child watch while parents or guardians remain in the building. Families using Child Watch must have a family membership. Come and visit us in Child Watch and learn more about this great program that allows kids to have fun and make new friends while their parents have a chance to enjoy the YMCA.

The goal for our Summer Day Camp Program is to nurture the potential of every child and teen in order to help them grow and develop into the best people they can be!
Our Volunteer program is open to High School Juniors and Seniors! This opportunity allows you to work closely and be mentored by our Counselor staff, and grow as leaders!
As a volunteer you will gain the experience of managing a group of students, leading conflict resolution talks, and learn games and activities to keep campers of all ages engaged.

You might initially think of this as a night out for the parents, but it’s really a night out for your kids! The kids, Kindergarten-5th grade, will be involved in games, arts and crafts, and structured free play. The Y will provide them with a pizza dinner. Now, on the plus side…you get to have a little down time to yourself or enjoy a night out!

LIVESTRONG ® at the YMCA is a FREE 12-week small group program designed for adult cancer survivors seeking to regain health as they become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from treatment and/or disease. This program includes:
Two 75-minute classes per week, Tuesdays and Fridays, 1:30PM-2:45PM
Family Membership with full access to the Y and Central Connecticut Coast YMCA branches seven days per week
Our certified instructors provide a supportive, safe environment for each class and have undergone specialized training in the areas of cancer, post-rehab exercise, nutrition, and supportive cancer care. LIVESTRONG ® at the YMCA is provided at no cost to participants thanks to the generosity of those who donate to our Annual Campaign.
The LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program includes:
• Two 75 minute classes per week
• Full access to the Y seven days a week
CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION
• Available for individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment or have completed their treatment.
• Strong personal desire and commitment to attend classes
• Obtain a signed medical clearance form
• Participate in an interview with our Intake Specialist, complete a confidential health assessment and program registration forms.

The Stratford Y, the Woodruff Family Y and the Lakewood-Trumbull Y are participating in the Project SEARCH Training Program along side The Kennedy Collective, Milford Public Schools, Stratford Public Schools and the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services. Individuals will hold un-paid intern positions in membership, child care, wellness and facilities. While working side by side with Y staff members, interns will learn business processes, procedures and communication skills. They’ll also gain independence, self-confidence and self-esteem. Project SEARCH exposes individuals to a variety of careers and helps prepare them for future employment.
To be eligible to participate, individuals must be between 18-30 years of age, diagnosed with a Developmental Disability and eligible for State of Connecticut DDS programs or willing to pay privately.
When a friend you’ve referred joins the Y, we’ll thank you by giving you a FREE membership month.
There’s no limit to how many friends you refer and there’s no limit to how many FREE months you can receive.
