Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week - April 8

MADISON, Wis.--Following are the WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of April 1 - 7.

BASEBALL
Position
Jacoby Endreas, Senior (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Falls), Firstbase/Designated Hitter of UW-Stout
Endreas was 7-for-17 (.412 batting average) with three home runs, six RBI, five runs scored, an intentional walk and stolen base in the weekend series against UW-Platteville. He compiled a .444 on-base percentage and .941 slugging percentage in the four games.

Lucas Lendosky, Freshman (Fennimore, Wis./Fennimore), Lefthanded Pitcher of UW-Stout
Lendosky threw 8.0 innings of one-hit ball in a 7-0 win over UW-Platteville on April 5, in his only appearance during the week. He struck out eight, walked two (1st and 7th inning) and retired 11 in a row. Lendosky hit a 2-run and 3-run shot in game one and hit the go-ahead HR in UW-Stout's 7-0 win in game two.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Offense
Raquel Kurth, Senior (Austin, Texas/Anderson), Midfielder of Southwestern University
Against UW-Stevens Point on April 5, Kurth broke the school record for goals in a game with 11. In addition to Kurth's 11 goals, she also scooped up five GBs, had seven draw controls and three caused turnovers. Kurth scored all five of the Pirates goals against UW-River Falls on April 6.

Defense
Caroline Shay, Senior (Denver, Colo./Kent Denver School), Midfielder of Colorado College
Shay was all over the field in a 2-0 weekend for the Tigers. She surpassed 100 career draw controls after collecting six against UW Stout on April 7. Shay is the 11th player in Colorado College history to accomplish that mark. On April 5, Shay caused a season-high three turnovers and finished the weekend with four after another on April 7. Shay added two goals, four assists and seven ground balls in her two final career home games.

Position
Grace Wickman, Junior (Wausaukee, Wis./Peshtigo), Thirdbase of UW-Whitewater
Wickman helped the Warhawks split a pair of games in a tournament hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on April 6. Wickman went 2-for-3 in the batter’s box with a double in UW-Whitewater’s 1-0 win over Illinois Wesleyan. In a 9-6 loss to DePauw University (Ind.), Wickman was 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBI. For the week, Wickman hit .714 with a slugging percentage of .857 and was perfect defensively.

Anderson shutout Illinois Wesleyan University to lead the Warhawks to a 1-0 win over the Spartans on April 6. She tossed a complete game two-hitter, while striking out eight and walking just one to improve to 4-0 on the season.

MEN’S TENNIS
East Division - Singles
Adrian Tsui, Senior (Roslyn Heights, N.Y./Roslyn), of The College of New Jersey
Tsui won both of his matches at No. 2 singles during the week, surpassing 50 career victories in the process. He dropped just seven total games in matches against WIAC East Division foe Ramapo College (N.J.) and Washington College (Md.).

East Division - Doubles
Aayush Kishore, Freshman (Monmouth Junction, N.J./South Brunswick) & Asa Wong, Sophomore, Johns Creek, Ga. (William & Reed Academy), of The College of New Jersey
Paired together for the first time, Kishore and Wong posted a pair of 8-0 shutouts at No. 3 doubles against WIAC East Division foe Ramapo College (N.J.) and Washington College (Md.).

Jack Hehli, Sophomore (West Salem, Wis./West Salem), of UW-La Crosse
Hehli won a pair matches in straight sets at No. 3 singles as UW-La Crosse earned dual victories on April 6. He defeated Elijah Swanstrom of Wartburg College (Iowa) by scores of 6-4, 6-2 and Carson Haack of the University of Northwestern-St. Paul (Minn.) by scores of 6-3, 6-2.

West Division - Doubles
Steven Benoy, Junior (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) & Frederick Diehl, Junior (Minneapolis, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels), of UW-Stevens Point
Benoy and Diehl went 2-0 in a pair of duals during the week. They won their No. 1 doubles match, 8-3, in a sweep of Edgewood College (Wis.) on April 6. Benoy and Diehl won their No. 1 doubles match in a tiebreak, 8-7 (5) in a conference opener against UW-Whitewater on April 7.

Track
Sam Blaskowski, Junior (Oshkosh, Wis./West), of UW-La Crosse
Blaskowski won the 100-meter dash (10.36 seconds) in helping UW-La Crosse to the team title at the Ashton May Invitational on April 6. His time of 10.36 seconds with a wind of -0.5 ranks first on the NCAA Division III Honor Roll.

Justin Eichler, Senior (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), of UW-Platteville
Eichler won the hammer and discus competitions at the Mississippi River Rumble hosted by the University of Dubuque on April 6. His winning mark in the discus was a lifetime best throw of 117-9 (54.18m) that currently ranks first in the WIAC and second on the NCAA Division III List. Eichler winning mark in the hammer throw of 206-7 (62.96m) won the competition by over 21 feet and would have been good enough to lead the NCAA Division III List had he not thrown a further mark last week.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Track
Tina Shelton, Junior (Janesville, Wis./Parker), of UW-Whitewater
Shelton registered the fastest time in NCAA Division III this season in the 100-meter dash at the UW-Whitewater Rex Foster Twilight on April 5. She posted a time of 11.74 seconds to win the event. Shelton also ran the second leg of the Warhawks’ winning 4x100-meter relay squad that crossed the line in 47.68 seconds – a top 10 mark nationally.

Kayla Behnke, Junior (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly), of UW-Eau Claire
Behnke won the discus and hammer, while taking third place in the shot put at the Ashton May Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse on April 6. She had a toss of 160-7 (48.96m) in the discus, which ranks No. 1 in the WIAC and No. 2 in NCAA Division III. She also threw 178-10 (54.50m) in the hammer, which ranks No. 1 in the WIAC and No. 2 in the NCAA. Finally, Behnke threw 43-0 1/4 (13.11m) in the shot put, which ranks No. 4 in the WIAC and No. 19 in the NCAA.
