Dogs often have “big feelings” about one or many stimuli in their regular lives, from separation and isolation to fireworks or the mail carrier. Common management techniques, like minimizing your dog's time alone, covering their crates, and sound masking, are often helpful in the moment but alleviate symptoms without addressing causes or teaching skills that can make dogs' and their people’s lives much better over the long haul.
The sustainable, smart solution is to create places where dogs feel at ease and give them the agency and skill to move to those environments independently. Then, we can teach dogs behaviors that help them calm themselves. These principles are put into action in the “Safe Spaces” class.
In this five-week LIVE! Class, Ellen will coach you through creating, conditioning, and maintaining safe spaces for your or your clients’ dogs. These techniques apply whether your dog is merely suspicious of or boisterously reactive to stimuli and can also be applied to non-dog species. However, this class is not designed for dogs with resource-guarding issues.

In this 7-week virtual class, you’ll learn how to turn communication into your most effective training tool. Whether you freeze up in front of clients, hesitate when repeating the same concept again, or just wish your words came as smoothly as your click timing, this course will help you find your voice—and use it with confidence.
Through bite-sized, approachable exercises and real-time coaching, you’ll build strong communication habits that support effective teaching. You'll also explore the mechanics of voice production so you can speak with greater clarity, comfort, and confidence in any teaching situation.
Dog trainers teach people—it’s the not-so-secret truth of the profession. And while your training knowledge is solid, success depends on how well you share it. Without clear communication, clients may struggle to understand instructions, leading to confusion and frustration for both dogs and their humans.
This course is the expanded, personalized version of the popular “Dem-OH” from ClickerExpo LIVE. With individualized coaching, video review, and hands-on practice, you’ll learn how to make your teaching stick—and actually enjoy the process of speaking to people.
Loose-leash walking has evolved far beyond the old “obedience” picture of a dog trotting at heel. Today, a modern, dog-centric walk can look more like two partners moving together—responding to each other and the world—almost as if the leash weren’t there. It’s a dynamic, flexible dance that rewards clear communication with enriching experiences for the dog and the handler.
In this five-week LIVE class, Kiki will teach you essential component skills that can form a foundation for connected walks. You’ll learn why modern loose-leash walking often requires more skill and awareness from both the dog and the handler than the rigid heeling styles of the past—and why that’s a good thing.
You will also explore how to assemble these component behaviors into flowing sequences, adapt to changing environments, and reduce reliance on food reinforcement by incorporating naturally occurring rewards. Whether you’re a pet guardian or a professional trainer, this class will help you troubleshoot challenges and teach loose-leash skills that truly satisfy both ends of the leash.
Retrieving isn’t just for fetch fanatics. It’s one of the most versatile skills we can teach our dogs—blending play, mental stimulation, physical activity, and teamwork.
In this 6-week class, Liza Rader will show you how to build a confident, cooperative retrieve using positive reinforcement. Whether you’re interested in dog sports, service dog tasks, cute tricks, or fun games that won’t lead to over-arousal or obsessive behaviors, this class will help you teach a retrieve that’s reliable, flexible, and deeply rewarding—for both you and your dog.
Traditional retrieving is often taught using force or discomfort. But it doesn’t have to be that way. With video demos, thoughtful instruction, and real-time coaching, Liza will guide you through a gentle, effective step-by-step process for teaching your dog to bring back thrown, hidden, or dropped items using thoughtful, positive training.
You will learn how retrieving games offer your dog the thrill of the chase, with little wear and tear on their body and fewer unwanted side effects like barking or guarding that come along with traditional retrieve training. They're also a powerful way to meet your dog’s physical and mental needs without over-arousal.
Liza brings deep experience as a sporting dog specialist and second-generation Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever enthusiast. Their approach has helped dogs of all ages, breeds, and backgrounds learn to love retrieving—on their own terms.
This class is ideal for dogs with previous clicker training experience and a reliable sit cue. Teams of all ages and abilities are welcome, with the exception of teething puppies or dogs with mouth, back, or neck discomfort.
Join Emma and build a foundation of calm, confidence, and connection for a lifetime of trust.
Reactivity is an increasing concern in today’s canine world, but the best time to address it is before it begins. No one knows this better than trainer and author Emma Parsons, who has helped countless trainers and pet guardians go from chaos to calm through her award-winning Click to Calm™ approach. In this four-unit, five-week LIVE class, Emma will guide you through a positive reinforcement-based program to help puppies, young dogs, and dogs new to the home build resilience, emotional regulation, and strong communication skills.
If an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, the worth of Emma’s program is best measured in tonnage. Using the proven Click to Calm approach, you’ll learn how to shape focus, encourage calm behavior, and prevent reactivity without using force or fear. Your puppy (or newly adopted dog) will learn how to navigate exciting, distracting, and stressful situations confidently and trustfully.
Whether you are a pet guardian, a trainer, a behavior consultant, a puppy raiser, a shelter or rescue professional, or a breeder preparing puppies for future success, this class will equip you with practical strategies to create calmer, more connected futures for the dogs in your care. Dogs of any age will benefit and are welcome. This class is not for dogs already exhibiting aggression, as it focuses on prevention.
