‘Serious money’: Why listing on Airbnb, Stayz is so attractive

Income for landlords generated by properties listed on short-term rental websites such as Airbnb and Stayz has grown significantly in holiday hotspots including Brisbane city, Byron Bay, the Blue Mountains near Sydney and Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula over the past year.
But it is on Queensland’s Gold Coast that landlords are cashing in most, with short-term rentals generating $83.6 million in the first three months of this year, compared with $40.4 million in the same period last year.
