The City-County has 25 Councilors, one for each district. Councilors serve a four-year term. Indianapolis-Marion County City-County Council members make laws, approve the annual City-County budget, levy taxes, distribute funds for City-County operations, recognize individuals and groups for their contributions to their communities, and serve on boards and commissions.
