Camden, N.J. – Stockton University (13-2, 2-0) cruised to its sixth straight win with a 3-0 sweep of Rutgers-Camden (7-6, 0-2) by scores of 25-20, 25-4, 25-21. All 16 Ospreys saw action in the victory, led by
Charlotte Leon (Northport, N.Y./Northport) with 16 kills.
Leon reached double digits for the third straight match and posted a .407 hitting percentage.
Christie Louer (Clifton/Clifton) contributed seven kills and eight digs while
Julie Kohlhoff (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) finished with six kills, a torrid .714 hitting percentage and five blocks.
Emily Sullivan (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) dished 32 assists and
Natalie Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) scooped 11 digs for the Ospreys.
The first set was tied at 18 when Stockton scored seven of the next nine points to win 25-20. Louer spiked two kills during the 7-2 run. The Ospreys exploded for a 17-1 onslaught in the second set and routed the Scarlet Raptors 25-4.
In the third set, Kohlhoff sparked Stockton to an 11-4 lead with two kills and two blocks. Rutgers-Camden later closed the gap to 20-19 before the Ospreys regained control and closed out the match 25-21.
Stockton will host Hunter College in a non-conference match at The Sports Center on Thursday at 7 p.m.
