Biography

Simon is the Chief Commercial Officer for Jaunt Air Mobility. He is responsible for developing Jaunt's commercial strategy and identifying new business opportunities, working with its customers and operators to develop an Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) transportation system. Simon also manages Jaunt Air Mobility’s global network of aerospace and infrastructure partners. He leads a team of experienced professionals in the development of the AAM Eco-system.

Prior to joining Jaunt Air Mobility, Simon was an Aerospace faculty at Georgia Tech and the Transformative Aviation Concepts Division Chief at the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL) for 15 years. He was the Principal Investigator on numerous research programs with NASA, the FAA, and industry in the study of novel aircraft design, air mobility operations, autonomous systems, as well as aviation safety and certification. His technical expertise is focused on the development of advanced design methods and their applications to systems engineering problems. His expertise covers many areas within the conceptual and preliminary design of complex vehicles.

Simon is a thought leader in the emerging market of AAM. He has conducted several landmark studies on AAM that have been widely used by industry in the development of the AAM markets.

Simon’s contributions to the industry include over 80 technical papers and over 30 invited presentations on emerging mobility and aviation safety.

Simon has served on key engineering and aviation committees. He was the Georgia Tech deputy site director for the FAA’s Center of Excellence for General Aviation Safety. He is a senior member of AIAA and served as AIAA Technical Chair on the Transformational Flight IOC. He is a member of the ASTM F44 General Aviation Committee. He is also a commercial instrument-rated pilot.
