Union, NJ – Stockton University (9-5, 6-2 NJAC) could not overcome the balanced scoring of Kean University (9-6, 6-2 NJAC) and dropped a 78-53 decision on Wednesday night.
Madison Dulude (Sewell/Washington Twp.) led the Ospreys with 15 points and seven rebounds, as Stockton allowed the most points in a game this season.

The Ospreys jumped out to an 8-4 lead after 5:13 gone in the first quarter but could not hold the margin. The home squad finished the frame on a 10-3 run to take a 14-11 lead after one period and would not trail again. Dulude and
Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) topped the visitors with three points each.

The Cougars stretched the margin to eight points on two occasions in the second period. Stockton, bolstered by a pair of three-point baskets by
Katie Rausch (Monmouth Junction/South Brunswick), fought back to trailing by one at 28-27, but the home team tallied the last five points of the half to take a 33-27 lead into the break.

The third quarter was all Kean as they came out of the break on a 12-2 run and stretched the margin to 51-31 at the 4:25 mark. The Ospreys crawled back with
Grace Speer (Estell Manor/ACIT) and
Trina Deveney-Bethea (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek) leading the way, but still trailed 55-41 after three frames.

Stockton began the final quarter on baskets by Dulude and
Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack), helping the visitors close to within 10 points on three occasions, the last being at 61-51 with 5:12 remaining in regulation. But that was as close as the Ospreys would come, as Kean pulled away for the 15-point victory.

Speer added a career-high 10 markers as the only other Osprey in double figures. Morrone and Fathi tied for team honors with five assists each.

Five Cougars scored in double figures led by Gigi Gamble with game-highs of 19 points, eight assists and five steals. Macy Seaman added 16 points and game-highs of eight rebounds and three blocks. Teammates Shahd Badeer and Brittany Graff chipped with 12 markers each with Riley Ahrens tallying 11 points.

Stockton will be back in action on Saturday when the Ospreys will face New Jersey City at home. Game time is set for 3 pm.
