Weekly update from the Career Resource Center – Sept. 14, 2020

Here’s everything you need to know about the Career Resource Center’s offerings for students this week:


Fall 2020 Office and Drop-In Hours

The Career Resource Center will be open this fall, but all appointments and drop-in hours will be hosted virtually.

Students can use this link to schedule an appointment with one of the Center’s career professionals. Appointments are available Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Career Resource Center team is also hosting virtual drop-in hours for students who are looking for quick information or more informal advice. Drop-in hours are Monday – Thursday, 12 – 4 p.m. Learn more and get the Zoom meeting URL using this link.


Career Resource Center is live on Instagram, Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 10:30 a.m.

“Did you Know?” – Learn more about our virtual offerings & fall 2020 events from Career Resource Center interns Chelsea Carter ’20 (Psychology) and Nicole Gee ’20 (Psychology).


Class of 2023: Apply by Sept. 18 to join the new Sophomore Connections program!

This program matches students in their sophomore year with a SUNY New Paltz alumni mentor who can help guide them through the triumphs and challenges that they may experience this year. Mentors and mentees will meet virtually and discuss topics such as career exploration and readiness, campus involvement, major and class decisions and more.

Workshops: Deciding on a Major and/or Career

Do you need help figuring out what to major in? Have a major but are still somewhat undecided? Want to know more about your career options?

Start exploring these questions now and be ready in time for course registration.

The Career Resource Center will be holding Self-Directed Search (SDS) Workshops for undecided students and those who have decided on a major/career but want to explore more options.

Pre-registration is required – use this link to sign up.

The assessment is free and all students are encouraged to join us for a few tips on Zoom after you take the assessment.
