Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (6-2) stayed close to 16th-ranked Swarthmore College (6-1) into the third quarter before absorbing a 15-6 defeat. The game was Stockton's second of the season thus far against a ranked opponent.
Alex DeLierre (Basking Ridge/Bridgewater-Raritan) led the Ospreys with two goals and an assist while four additional Stockton players scored one goal apiece.
After Stockton surrendered the first three goals of the game, consecutive markers by
Ethan Fought (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) and
Connor Albrecht (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) got the Ospreys within 3-2.
Another three-goal burst by the Garnet made it 6-2 before two straight tallies by DeLierre halved the margin to 6-4 at the break. Swarthmore scored first in the third quarter but
Liam DiFonzo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield Delco) answered for Stockton to create another two-goal margin at 7-5.
The Ospreys then suffered a scoring drought of just over 21 minutes while the Garnet reeled off seven unanswered goals.
Reegan Capozzoli (Wayne/Wayne Valley) potted the final Stockton counter of the night however the Ospreys fell 15-6.

Colin Bernstein (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) made 11 saves and
Shane Phillips (Springfield, Pa./Springfield Delco) chipped in with a game-high three caused turnovers and a team-high four ground balls.
Clay Almgren paced #16 Swarthmore with three goals and three assists followed by Owen Hoffman with three goals. Garnet goalie Drew Tyson kept the Stockton offense in check with 18 saves.
Stockton will be home again on Saturday for a matchup against Misericordia University at 1:00 p.m.
