Our mission
Eliminate global hunger & reduce health issues related to unhealthy eating.
TABLE FOR TWO is a non-profit organization which started in Japan and is expanding globally.
In our world of 8 billion, 800 million suffer from hunger while another 2 billion suffer from obesity and other health related issues due to unhealthy eating. TABLE FOR TWO (TFT) is a global initiative to right this food imbalance through a unique meal-sharing program. First established in Japan in 2007, TFT partners with corporations, restaurants, schools and other food establishments to serve healthy TFT- branded meals. For each one of these healthy meals served, $0.25 is donated to provide one school meal for a child in need.
TFT was initiated by and is an official affiliate of the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders. TFT expanded its activities worldwide to 14 countries, including Japan, the US, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, U.K., Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia. As a non-profit organization which started in Japan and is expanding globally, TFT has started the innovative programs: “Onigiri Action” and “Wa-Shokuiku -Learn. Cook. Eat Japanese!-“ (in the US) featuring Japanese food culture to eliminate global hunger and reduce health issues related to unhealthy eating.

What we do:
Meal Sharing Program
Our innovative “Meal Sharing” program tackles obesity and malnutrition at the same time. We partner with corporations and organization to provide healthier options in cafeterias, restaurants, food trucks, and vending machines for an extra $.25, which is donated to providing school meals in areas of need throughout the world. We support schools in East Africa and Southeast Asia as well as low income communities in the United States.
Onigiri Action Program
Onigiri Action is an annual social good campaign connecting the simple act of taking a photo with helping to feed school children in need. From mid-October to mid-November, every time someone takes a photo of a Japanese rice ball and posts with #OnigiriAction five school meals are donated to children in need around the world. Since its launch in 2015, the Onigiri Action campaign has fed millions of children.
Local Initiatives
Tackling world hunger and obesity requires various approaches that resonate with local needs.
Our teams in each location offer customized programs, such as “Wa-Shokuiku”, Japanese-inspired food education curriculum for children in the United States and “Calorie Offset”, a promotional campaign with fitness and sports in Japan.
