America's Funniest Home Videos is the longest-running prime time show to air on ABC

America's Funniest Home Videos has been making people laugh since it debuted on November 26, 1989. The premise was simple — people sent in funny home videos, and the funniest video won $10,000 each week.

Once a year, winners of the $10,000 prize would compete against each other for a chance to not only have America's funniest home video, but also win the $100,000 grand prize.

The show has had five hosts during its 30-year history. Bob Saget hosted the first 11 years of the show, followed by John Fugelsang and Daisy Fuentes. Tom Bergeron was the longest-running host, and the show is currently hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro.

Several spinoff series have been released over the years — America's Funniest People, World's Funniest Videos, and Videos After Dark — but none were as popular as the original.
