Chipotle is a well-beloved food franchise that’s kept people’s bellies full since 1993.

But did you know Pennsylvania is among the states that love Chipotle the most?

PennStakes.com lifted consumer analytics from ScrapeHero.com — “a full-service provider of data” — in order to rank each U.S. state on how much deep affection they hold for the food chain.

They added in Google Trends search volume for the phrase “Chipotle near me” in the past 90 days as well, parsing all the information out by location in order to determine final rankings.

Pennsylvania scored the ninth overall spot, solidifying its place among the top 10 Chipotle-loving states in the country. The study adds how the Keystone State also has about 9.14 Chipotle restaurants per 1 million people, “…a 4% share of Chipotles in the nation, tied with Virginia for second lowest among the top 10.”

Indeed, there’s no shortage for people who are gaga for Chipotle across the country in general: A 2019 Investopedia article details how the chain was an incredibly lucratively one, and achieved popularity from a consumer need of wanting healthy “food with integrity.”

“Chipotle was born of the radical belief that there is a connection between how food is raised and prepared, and how it tastes,” reads Chipotle’s website. “Real is better. Better for You, Better for People, Better for Our Planet. It may be the hard way to do things, but it’s the right way.”

States who claimed the top three rankings were Arizona (third), Maryland (second) and Ohio (first).
