Propelled by musical excellence and a steadfast commitment to community, Kalena Bovell has rapidly ascended to international prominence. Her recent achievements include receiving CAG's prestigious Richard S. Weinert Prize, being awarded the 2024 Sphinx Medal of Excellence—the highest honor bestowed by the Sphinx Organization—and being named a 2022-2024 Awardee of the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship, a recognition given to talented female leaders in the field. A graduate of The Hartt School, Bovell was the Assistant Conductor of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra through 2023, and has been praised as “one of the brightest stars in classical music.”
