Students urge banning ‘anti-queer’ Morehouse Chick-fil-A

.

Following the suspension of the business relationship between Morehouse College and Papa John’s, some students are urging the school to go a step further by banning Chick-fil-A from campus.

While some individuals were pleased with the school’s action, others urged that the school apply the same treatment to the on-campus Chick-fil-A.

Unlike the recent controversy with Papa John’s, students claim Chick-fil-A “has been doing problematic things for years…” and has remained on campus.

Da’Shaun Harrison, who describes himself as “a contributing columnist for Queer Black Millennial” and an “organizer, abolitionist, and socialist,” and operates with a “Black Queer Feminist politic,” took the restaurant chain to task via Twitter. Harrison’s twitter bio reads: “fat queer communist nigga with thoughts.”

Student Delaney Vandergrift advocated even more extreme measures, suggesting the campus cut ties with Sodexo and Starbucks, too.

In a climate where anything can be interpreted as offensive, no food is safe on campus.
